Saida — 23 February 2026. As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen preventive health awareness, the Dr. Nazih Bizri Primary Healthcare Center, affiliated with Al Moasat Association, organized a specialized awareness lecture on how to manage chronic medications during fasting, attended by patients and community members interested in safe health practices during the religious season.

The lecture was delivered by endocrinology and diabetes specialist Ghada Agha Romani, who presented in a clear and practical manner the best ways to deal with chronic illnesses during fasting, especially for patients with diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease.

Ms. Romani highlighted the importance of consulting a physician before deciding to fast, reorganizing medication schedules to match iftar and suhoor times, and recognizing warning signs that require breaking the fast to protect one’s health. She also emphasized balanced nutrition, increased fluid intake, and adherence to individualized medical guidance.

Ms. Ghaidaa Al-Dirzi, Director of Al Moasat Association, explained that such initiatives fall within a comprehensive vision aimed at strengthening prevention, reducing health complications, and reinforcing a culture of personal responsibility toward health.

The session also included retinal screening for patients—an important preventive step, especially for people with diabetes—as well as the distribution of a dedicated medication storage and organizer box to help patients follow their treatment plans more effectively during fasting.
