Saida — 16 April 2026. In a hopeful humanitarian scene amid ongoing challenges, Al Moasat Association for Social Services launched a unique initiative titled “From Every Home, a Plate and a Spoon”, emphasizing that even the simplest items can carry profound meanings of dignity.
This initiative stems from a deep sense of social and environmental responsibility, translating solidarity into tangible action that directly impacts the lives of displaced families in shelters across Saida, while redefining community solidarity in its most meaningful form.
The campaign aims to provide essential utensils—particularly plates and spoons—to families residing in shelters at Angelique Saliba School and Omaniya School.
Beyond immediate relief, the initiative touches the core of human dignity, as providing basic daily necessities becomes a message of respect for the fundamental right to live with dignity.
It also comes in response to increasing environmental pressures in the city, particularly the growing waste crisis and its health and social impacts. The initiative thus represents a dual-impact model, combining humanitarian aid with environmental awareness and promoting a culture of reuse and social solidarity.
